Rainbows
A public art initiative launched by Justice Network Tarrant County’s LGBTQ+ Rights Action Team
Why Now
In October 2025, Governor Greg Abbott ordered the removal of rainbow crosswalks and LGBTQ+ symbols from Texas roadways. Communities across the state responded with creative, permanent alternatives — murals, painted walkways, and public art that no executive order can erase.
Now it’s Fort Worth’s turn. We invite Near Southside businesses to join The Rainbow Project — transforming storefronts, walls, and walkways into a permanent declaration of welcome.
